What is university admissions counselling?

University admissions counselling is expert help to pick universities that match your academics, budget and career goal, and to submit complete, convincing applications before the deadlines. Good counselling raises your chance of an offer and avoids money spent on applications you were never likely to win.

Students often apply to the same few famous names their friends chose. Some get lucky, many spend a year waiting. We take the opposite approach: we look at your real profile first, then build a list of safe, target and ambitious universities where your marks, test scores and budget give you a genuine chance.

Every recommendation comes with a reason you can check, such as course modules, internship options, total cost, entry requirements and graduate job outcomes.

What makes a strong statement of purpose?

A strong SOP explains why this course, why this university and why now, using specific evidence from your studies or work, and ends with a realistic career goal. It reads like you, not like a template.

Admissions teams read thousands of SOPs that open with a childhood dream and list every achievement. The ones that stand out are specific: a project you built, a problem you solved at work, a module that connects to it, and what you plan to do with the degree.

Common SOP mistakes we fix

  • Generic praise for the university that could fit any other
  • Unexplained gaps, backlogs or a change of field
  • No clear link between the course and a career goal
  • Copied or AI-generated text that sounds the same as thousands of others

Admissions counselling: frequently asked questions

How many universities should I apply to?

Most students apply to six to eight universities: two or three safe options, two or three targets and one or two ambitious choices. The right number depends on your budget for application fees and how competitive your course is.

Do I need the GRE for a master's abroad?

Not always. Many universities in the UK, Ireland, Australia and Canada do not ask for it, and many US programmes have made it optional. Some competitive programmes still require or reward a good score, so we check each course on your list.

Can you write my SOP for me?

We guide the structure, ask the questions that bring out your best examples, and edit your drafts. The content must be yours, because universities and visa officers check for authenticity and can reject copied or generated statements.

Can I study abroad with a backlog or a gap year?

Often, yes. Many universities accept students with a limited number of backlogs, and gap years are fine when you can show what you did during that time. We shortlist universities whose rules match your record.

Who pays the university application fees?

Universities charge their own application fees, which you pay directly to them. Some waive the fee. We tell you each fee upfront so you can plan your budget before applying.
